Bullet Points
*I finally had to change my desktop picture on my laptop. I’m almost embarrassed to admit I’ve had the same picture for 2 1/2 years. What can I say? I really liked my Erik and Dragon pic. The dear, dear boy did something weird and suddenly my desktop pic was a curved line. Joy. I wish I could remember what folder the dragon pic is in. Maybe one of these days I will be inspired to change my LJ user pic. I’ve only had it for a year.
*I watched an episode of Life on Mars on ABC’s website. How do they manage to make the commercials perfectly smooth and enjoyable, while the show itself stutters and freezes and has the audio and video tracks totally out of sync? I knew there was a reason I wasn’t into streaming videos.
*I think some hoochie girl went barhopping this weekend and gave all her would-be suitors our phone number. We’ve had at least six wrong number calls in the past 24 hours, all by men seeking women by different names. Denise, Nicole, and Virginia are the only three I could understand. The Virginia guy was persistent. He called three times in a row. Normally I am not irritated by wrong numbers, but the third time the phone rang I got a little snippy with him.
*Erik got in trouble at the gym today for spitting n a kid. Spitting! What the hell? I guess all kids have to explore spitting, but I hope it is a short lived phase. I can’t handle spitting.
*I’m trying to be a nice mommy these days because I know he is having a hard time adjusting to the move, but it is really hard when he will. Not. Listen. SO FRUSTRATING. At one point today I was considering taking him to an ear doctor to see if he’s deaf, but he can hear things he wants to hear just fine. He picked today of all days to go running down the sidewalk in gleeful defiance. Since I no longer have to fight him down two flights of stairs, I wore my brown dress shoes with a bit of a heel. I learned an important lesson. They are not made for running. Bah.
*I am supposed to give a presentation to our MOMS club next week. What was I thinking? I really need a projector but no one seems to have one or have access to one so I’m totally screwed. I’m supposed to talk about ways to save money while shopping online. So far I have MyPoints, EBates and goggling coupon codes and free shipping. Any other ideas? How do you load up internet coupons on your Safeway or Giant card? Is that possible?
*I find it funny that I was able to freecycle old candles (last time no one wanted them, this time people were fighting over them), VHS exercise tapes, random unopened pantry items, and opened beauty products but no one will show up to take a nice coat or a working microwave. People are strange. Since I moved the coat over here anyway I may as well keep it. The more I think about it, the more I’m glad to hang on to it. I just wish I could get the damned microwave out the door. It’s huge! I could probably stuff Erik in here and have room left over for a baked potato and bag of popcorn. Not that I would. Stuff Erik in the microwave. Or mix potatoes with popcorn. What kind of person do you take me for?
*Don’t forget to give me suggestions for saving money online.

The tricky threes…ugh. I feel for you.
As for saving money online…hmmm…I’ve got nothing for you. Make husband shop online for his boy toys rather than going to Worst Buy (or the like)? Lame, i know

I’ve got nothing, just what you’ve thought of. Although my big innovation is to stop and consider if I should even be buying whatever it is online anyway. I put stuff aside for 24 hours and then buy it if I still want it.
I suppose if you buy a lot of stuff at Amazon, it makes sense to sign up for Prime instead of trying to get to $25 for super saver shipping each time.
Oh, and check eBay. It’s not the land of great deals anymore, but it’s worth a quick search.
Signing up for individual stores’ mailing lists can be good or bad. You can get coupons and sale notifications, but it might tempt you into buying when you didn’t really intend to/don’t need to.

Uh, I don’t have any tips. If I buy online it’s, well, it’s rare, adn it’s just from one or two clothing stores during sales and Amazon.

That phone thing happened to us. They recycle phone numbers. Apparently, there are people who don’t pay their bills and get their phone disconnected. The phone company’s are supposed to wait a while before re-use, but I think they are doing it pretty quickly. We had a bunch of different Spanish speaking people call us repeatedly for weeks after moving in here. They didn’t understand me when I said “so-in-so” didn’t live here anymore!
