Home!

We’re back! We walked in the door at 10:30 pm and Erik is finally in bed an hour later. He’s not asleep, but he should be shortly. He is hyped up and happy to be home. Yesterday was miserable because he was d-o-n-e with his cousins and everyone else. Except my BIL. Everyone was asking him if they could come home with him and he was getting totally pissed. He kept telling them no and was being pretty rude about it, but then m BIL walked in and Erik ran up to him “Uncle R! We’re going home tomorrow! You can come with us!”

You can bet that got a big laugh out of everyone.

The day was actually pretty good. It started out iffy because my luggage was overweight and they were going to charge me $125. Yikes! I sent my mom home for a bag and transferred a few thing into it so I only had to pay $15. Have I mentioned how much air travel sucks these days?

San Francisco wasn’t bad except Erik had to poop twice, once right after I ordered a pizza and once right after I picked up said pizza. I really did not need to take my pizza into the bathroom. GAG. I thought I would be tricky and go into the nursery the second time, but the nursery didn’t have an actual toilet, just a changing table, rocker chair and little play foam things.

SFO had a kids’ play area over by our gate (89 for those interested) that was really cool. It was all about weather and had a tornado maker, spinning spheres, lightening, and a desert landscape. Erik loved it.

Our long flight was miserable in its length, but nothing special. I had my second sugar item of 2009. Bad me! The first class flight attendant thought Erik was cute, so brought us each a warm cookie and cold glass of milk. How could I turn up my nose at a first class cookie? I hope that doesn’t send me into a sugar spiral, but I don’t think that will happen. My clothes are starting to get a bit loose and that makes me very happy.

Erik was a really good boy and made lots of friends, but he is three and got awfully wiggly on the long flight. I was getting wiggly as well. They showed the most boring movie ever (The Duchess. I kept waiting for Kiera Knightly to kill her husband, but it never happened) and then a stupid NFL program. Bah humbug. By the end of the flight I let Erik stand in the aisle and spin in circles as long as he kept his arms down. I would have liked to take a few spins myself. I thought the plane was never going to land.

I suppose I’ll have lots of pictures and stuff tomorrow. I really need to get to bed. I have a feeling we won’t be up in time for Body Pump tomorrow, but hopefully we will make it to the gym before the childcare closes at 2.
