Here

I made it to Oregon last night, but never got a chance to post. The trip was pretty easy for being with a three year old. Two of the flights had crying toddlers, so I was thankful my kid was pretty well behaved. He slept all the way from Denver to Portland, so that definetly helped my nerves.

Today was ok up till 4 pm when I was supposed to take my niece to ballet class. Instead of going to class she fell asleep in the car and I couldn’t rouse her enough to get her out of the car. She’s been a joy to be around ever since.

My oldest nephew had school in the morning and slept all afternoon, so that made things a little easier. The baby is pretty happy unless he’s hungry, though he did puke all over me. I forgot how hard infant care really is. My back is killing me from lugging around the little tub o’ lard. He doesn’t sit up or crawl or anything so he depends on an adult for everything. When my sister had her first son it motivated me to have a kid. Taking care of this little guy is having the opposite effect. Isn’t that terrible? I forget how easy Erik is compared to a newborn. This is the real reason I come and visit the crazy family–it makes me appreciate my boy so much more.

I’m very mad at myself because I forgot to put the memory card in the camera. I could have sworn I checked, but apparently not. I’ll pick one up at Wal-Mart tomorrow. I was shocked last July when I saw the prices. I remember they used to be big ticket items but now they barely burn a twenty dollar bill. I’m not particularly motivated to take pictures, but I know I always enjoy them later.

I took the two 3 year olds over to Granny’s this morning and had to restrain myself from causing her bodily harm. It was 9:30 in the morning and she wanted to give them an ice cream sandwich. Instead of asking off to the side, she kept talking about it really loud in front of the kids. Then she wanted to give them candy, chocolate milk and cake. In the end I gave them a sandwich with cheese and turkey and plain milk. Can you believe the cruelty?

We have three kids trying to use the computer and it is driving me insane. I have no time to read LJ or GoogleReader so hope all is going well for you!
