Safe!

We made it to Kentucky yesterday! The trip only took 9.5 hours, and Erik was well behaved during the whole thing so we couldn’t have asked for anything else. I swear it was Oversized Load day, which made me cranky. There was a convoy of school trailers (you know what I mean? Those trailers they use for classrooms when they run out of room in the school.) that were competing with each other for top spot. I was ready to shoot out some tires, but I didn’t have enough bullets. It would take a lot of shooting to take out 10 18-wheelers.

Mike says I said that he had several weeks of vacation time, but I was supposed to say he had several days. We decided to bless Kisha and Magnus with our presence since she is home all day and wouldn’t have to make any last minute arrangements to take vacation time herself. We literally planned this trip last week since we didn’t know what was going on with Mike’s company.

It’s been really rainy and cold today, so we decided to take advantage of an indoor day and work on the Swiper the Fox costume. Three of us are now sporting injuries. Mike and I both have blisters from the hot glue gun, while Kisha has a scrape from trying to get the aloe out of the cupboard. At least the kids are ok. I’m not sure how this costume is going to turn out, but Erik is really enjoying wearing the shirt and pants despite the uneven seams.

And now I have to go help supervise my child. He and Evie are getting along great, but they sure know how to get into trouble together.
