My Dear Son

My dear son really knows how to sock it to me. He had me so angry that I picked him up and threw a little tantrum right in front of my friend. Whoo-hoo! Not that she cared. Her son can be a trouble maker too and I’ve seen her wrath. It’s good to be wrathful around someone who understand wrathfullness and isn’t going to twitter into their hands about it later.

Sock it to me #1: I gave the boy a piece of birthday cake. He laid on it and PEED on it. Right next to the potty. What in the frakin’ hell goes through his brain?

Sock it to me #2: My friend needed someone to take a picture of her donating canned goods for a forum contest somewhere. Cloth diaper people, if you think you see a picture of the back of Erik’s head on one of your forums you aren’t imagining things. As a reward for taking the pic, she took us to Starbucks, where Erik kicked his water bottle across the store like a soccer ball. The other patrons were amused. I was not.

Sock it to me #3: We came home. He was screaming. He stood right in front of me and peed his pants. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! He is trained. He has no reason to have an accident. He did it on purpose and I wanted to beat him, but I calmly pulled his clothing off and sat him on the potty. I figured I shouldn’t let him see that he had me by the short hairs.

Sock it to me #4: My friend and her son, Irish Lad, had dinner with us again. Once again, Erik had to pull and tug at the kid table, which drives me nuts. That’s when I went ape shit and gave him a time out while screaming at him to get to the naughty step.

Thankfully I was able to pull it together after my outburst and we had a pleasant evening. We bought the boys matching shirts today and they were totally thrilled. Erik has been calling Irish Lad his brother. We walked over to the park, all holding hands. Mike probably looked like the head of a budding polygamist family. Irish Lad’s dad gets back in town tomorrow so that will be the end of our little poly tryst. We’re planning on going to the pumpkin patch this weekend and at some point we are going to go up to a mountain and do family portrait photo shoots. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE having local friends?

In other news, I have even less time than I thought to get all my shit done because we may very well be out of town next weekend. I might have to take Erik’s Swiper costume with me and have an old fashioned sewing bee on my potential trip.

I have another local friend in the making. I’m so excited! I met her through my new moms group and she invited us to go play with her tomorrow. Whoo-hoo!

And now, my pretties, it’s time to go watch Leanne win Project Runway. I could live with a Korto win, but if Kenley takes the prize I am SO DONE. Except the show will be over, so I’m done anyway.

This is the first season I didn’t really care.

    SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just in case any readers are saving the episode… Kenley kind of grew on me, but that collection was so straight up weird 80s that I kind of died. Leeanne seems so sweet, I’m glad she won. I’ve been waiting for her to update her etsy shop for months now – guess I can forget about that!
