Early
I doubt I’ll be awake for my traditional evening post, so here’s a surprise afternoon post from me!
I miss the old Nyquil. The new Nyquil did help me get to sleep, but it did not clear my nose or let me sleep the sleep of the dead. Instead, I spent the night having nightmares about two certain jerk-faces stuffing my sinuses with rubber cement. If you don’t want to hear bad things about yourself, you shouldn’t eavesdrop on other people’s livejournal comments. Then when you dream about your sinuses being stuffed with rubber cement, maybe the people stuffing them will be sexy hunks of love instead of people you had long ago written off and “not even close to my type of people.” I have so many people who like me just the way I am, I shouldn’t let my subconscious worry about people I don’t even like! Of course they don’t like me. They don’t have to like me. I don’t like them either. Stupid brain! LET IT GO.
Mike said he woke up randomly all night and would be scared of the big, wet snuffles until he realized it was me. Fun times for all!
I have no voice and my nose is completely plugged, but other than that I am feeling a little less like shit than yesterday. I clear up when I’m walking, but the cold air hurts my throat, so I guess I’ll take the plugged nose. Erik ripped off all his clothes as soon as we got home from the open gym and is happily playing with his private toy. I hope he doesn’t pee all over the couch.
Here’s the question of the hour: Erik is watching a show starring cartoon insects and spiders. There’s a mother spider and then a variety of child insects. How does a spider give birth to a dragonfly, bedbug (with only 2 legs), and a bunch of other six legged critters? Are they all adopted? Is Ty Pennington going to come and give them a new house?
I’m supposed to be the preschool teacher this Friday. I hope I feel better or it’s not going to happen. Anyone have any cute, very easy snack ideas related to zoos that the kids could put together themselves (with lots of help)? Or should I just go with animal crackers?
I gotta go do something about this snot. Maybe hang upside down?

Mucinex – get some today. Also, get something from the pharmacy that’s behind the counter. You’ll sleep better & it and the Mucinex will help clear your sinuses. Snacks – how about ants on a log, aka peanut butter & raisins on celery, or cut up apples & other fruit and let them pretend to be elephants & monkeys while they’re eating. Does anyone make animal shape slice & bake cookie dough?

Stolen from the Internet:
Zebra Sandwiches Using a sliced white loaf of bread, butter and spread applebutter or hazelnut spread on four slices. Layer the slices spread side up, adding a plain piece of bread on the top. Use cookie cutters or simply cut into four. The children love to count the number of ‘stripes’ they can see before eating!
