Home Sweet Home

We made it! Eight hours is a loooooong time to fly with an awake toddler. He slept two hours, but that still left six hours of him wanting to run around when run around wasn’t possible. He’s stubborn and has quite the temper, but it really did go pretty well.

The major bad thing: the cold I’ve been flirting with for the past two weeks finally turned into a drippy, runny nose about five minutes after take off. We had very little tissue. Fun! I remember reading somewhere that baby wipes are supposed to be really gentle on the nose if you have a bad cold. Wrong! They might be gentle for other people, but they burned the hell out of my nose. I know I have very sensitive skin, so I should never try stuff like that. Baby Vicks burns. Most baby lotions burn. Baby wipes that don’t say “for sensitive skin” burn my hands. No surprise that even the sensitive baby wipes would burn my nose.

I’ve been working hard to keep myself awake to fight against the jet lag, but I’m about to give up the ghost and join Erik in dream land. He went down at 7 so he’ll probably be up at 7. I need to be prepared.

It was really fun to come home to a mailbox full of Christmas cards, but we somehow missed several people we should have sent cards to. Now I feel like a heel! I don’t know what happened with our Christmas card list this year, but it got all screwed up somehow.
