Alive!

We’re alive and well with my family. Well, maybe we are well. We are overwhelmed by screaming kids, grouchy mothers who need to fill their mood enhancing drug prescriptions, and nagging grandmothers. My sister had a girl with a little boy living with her so when they are all together there are four kids: 2 years, 18 months, 12 months and 9 months. That’s a whole lot of screaming.

Now that we’ve been here a week people are relaxing more and the trip has become more enjoyable. Everyone was so keyed up the first week that I was ready to head on home. My grandma has to make every word you say an attack, which is oh so much fun. She threw a temper tantrum at our Fourth of July BBQ because my sister asked her not to give my nephew any more beans (he was just throwing them). Then she threw an even bigger tantrum when I went to visit her at her house because I wouldn’t let her give Erik his own slice of pie. I took a slice to be polite and even gave the baby a nibble, but I am a mean, horrible mommy who won’t let Erik have ANY FUN! I didn’t know 9 month old babies needed to eat their own slice of pie. I thought I was being a bad mommy just by giving him a taste off my own spoon.

Whoo-hoo! Let the fun times roll.

I’m using my sister’s computer, but I am going to have to cut this short. She’s watching three of the babies and is not really keeping a close enough eye on Erik. Speaking of poor Erik, he has roseola this weekend. That was fun. He was up from 2-4 am then 6-7 am Sunday morning so I was really feeling the love that day.

Haha, your Grandma kind of sounds like my Mama when it comes to the kiddos! She gets all offended when I won’t let them do what she wants(regardless of how wrong it may be). Hello, I’m their parent!

Anywho, I hope you have a good rest of your visit with your family.
