Sunshiney Day

It may have rained outside, but it was a sunshiney day inside. Erik slept about two hours later than normal, then took a four hour nap. What a difference it made in his mood! No whining, no fussing, no biting. I wish I could figure out a way to get him to sleep that much every day.

When he woke up I decided we should risk a trip over to the park because it actually looked sunny and clear. He was in the swing for all of two minutes when the lightening started up. We managed to get home about 20 seconds before the deluge started. Is this rain ever going to end?

I think I might be a bossy person. One of our moms group mods is out of town and the other doesn’t really ever do anything. We usually have a Friday morning breakfast but no one made any plans even though several of us said we wanted to go. I figured that it wasn’t going to happen if someone didn’t just step in and say “Ok, we’re go to XXX at YYY, be there or be square.” Most everyone seemed to appreciate it and agree to meet at the specified place and time except for the rude woman who told me she didn’t want to hear me talk. Did she offer an alternate plan? Oh no. Of course not. She’s good at shooting down plans, but I guess she can’t be bothered with creating plans of her own. I sent off a snippy e-mail telling her I didn’t care where we went, but we need a plan or nothing is going to happen. We’ll see if she responds, I guess. The weird thing is, she doesn’t want to go to the place I suggested because she says we had really bad service when we went there before. We’ve only been there once and I was there. They were very accommodating and we had a great experience. I find it strange that two people can experience the same event so differently.

I really need to go to sleep now. I am afraid I am going to lay awake all night worrying about Cylons and space battles. I just finished watching the first volume of the second season of Battlestar Galactica. I NEED to see the rest of the series. I am almost afraid to look and see if the show has been picked up for a third season. It’s easily one of the best shows on television, right behind Veronica Mars, so it wouldn’t be surprising if it was cancelled. All the good stuff gets cancelled. (Not bitter at all. . . not bitter at all. . . Jooooooaaaaaaaan! Come back! You know, I actually had a dream last night that they were bringing Joan of Arcadia back. I need to get over this obsession.)
