In the Wilds of Ohio

Did you know Maryland had bears? Big bears! We saw one on the road.

Ok, so that’s a lie. We saw a big sign that said “Watch for Maryland Wildlife. Stay Alert!” Then it had a picture of a deer and a bear. I understand the deer. I know about deer. I have never seen bear roadkill.

We made it to Ohio without hitting a bear or having hour long baby hysterics. In fact, the longest baby hysterics lasted only 10 minutes. Victory! I want to think whatever crazy person came up with the Baby Einstein concept. The videos are bizarre to watch, but they kept him quiet for a good hour. Luckily the laptop batteries held out till we pulled into Julie’s driveway.

Not much else to report. We’re here. We’re having fun. MisterE is not sleeping. He is really enjoying Julie’s two boys (15 and 11) and they seem to be enjoying him.

Now for the funny thing. Remember that big hubub in the mom’s group about the chairs of our chapter? I joined the bigger group and found they have different interest groups, so I signed up for the quilting group. I got an e-mail back asking me if I wanted to be the chair. I started laughing. Apparently quilters know work when they see it. They haven’t had any activities for over a year. I don’t know if I’ll do it or not. It’s a pretty big commitment to plan an activity once a month. It would be funny to go tell those sorority girls that I’m a chair of a club.
