Uh-Oh

trip1.jpg

Grandma and her two boys. Braxton, 19 months and Erik, 4 months.

Can you believe I’ve been so negligent in my posting that my poor MT blog has pushed all the entries off the page? I have never had such a sad little journal before. I’m sure I’ll be back to full rambling capablities on Tuesday. I haven’t had time to sit around and ruminate, so it’s just as well that the internet on this computer usually won’t let me on. I’ve had to reinstall NetZero three times since I’ve been here. I need to cancel my mom’s account since she doesn’t even use it.

I can’t believe it is already time to turn around and go home. I am done with my cold and thought MisterE was safe since he didn’t get it. He woke up this morning with a very snotty nose and a cough–just what he needs on a plane ride. Poor little guy. He is also teething, which makes him grouchy too. We only have 40 minutes in Chicago so I hope we make it home. If we get stranded in Chicago for 12 hours I guess I’ll have to call Heather and have her come rescue us (just kidding, I know you’ll be at work).

Jenn, my matron of honor and the very first online person I met in real life, came up for the weekend and it was so nice to see her! She’ll have quite the story to tell because my family is crazy, but at least they are a nice kind of crazy. My dad is much more likeable and lucid since he stopped drinking (he has an irregular heart beat and they are going to have to shock him if it doesn’t go back to the correct rhythm. They said it might go back if he quit drinking. I guess the shocking process is really dangerous so he’s been sober for almost 3 weeks and has lost 25 pounds.)

We’re going to get family portraits done later this afternoon. I went out and bought a real bra and was very pleased with the results. A good bra goes a long way in looking good. It made me look like I lost 20 pounds! I hate hate hate these stupid nursing bras. My plan is to nurse for a full year, but this whole “sharp objects in the mouth” thing is making me wonder if I can really stick it out. The first tooth wasn’t so bad, but the second one is very sharp and hurty!

I found out that people are actually reading my little Watch Erik Grow blog so I need to update it once in a while! I haven’t updated it since his three month birthday. Whoops!

I also found out that no matter how nice a person is, I want to scratch out eyeballs whe she keeps telling me I need to go to church. I think I better save that for another entry.

Ok, let’s see if this will post or if it will give me a BSOD.

You can nurse with teeth, but it will take a few lessons in “don’t bite Mommy” that will be painful for both of you. When I got bit, I would pop Offspring off and put her straight on the floor for a minute, which worked after about 3 times.
