Here it seems that every summer kids die in cars because their parents leave them there while they go to play pachinko. What gets me is that most parking areas in Japan are crowded, or at least there are people around. I never understand how it can happen that nobody calls the police, or SOMETHING, before it goes that far. Reports like that never fail to make me furious. Not that that does any good... Good for you for being so observant and calling 911. It makes me want to scream when I am reminded of these types of things, they go on all the time under our noses and there's not a flaming thing we can do about it. Poor little thing. There is no excuse. Sorry but I had to get that out. Pro-actively speaking, I would certainly write a letter to the editor of every paper in town. I would suggest just printing off the story just like it is in your post - it has to be voiced. The woman and the police both need to be enlightened. This is completely unacceptable, and a severe form of child neglect. Can you tell you've hit a hot spot with me?
