Mine will hook up to a phone, but I don't have a mobile so it doesn't work for that. But the thing is, it's SMALL. And the keyboard folds out to almost full-sized, and I can type on it just as fast as I can on the computer. I always have it in my bag, so if I am inspired I can whip it out and type away, and download it to the computer when I get home. (Or whip it out and play solitaire, cough cough.) I love my Palm. Sometimes the more remote you are, the more places that have free wi-fi. It's as if they need to stay connected more than anybody else because they are so remote. So as the girl who toted her laptop to Paris and back, I say take it! But I don't have a clue about how to carry it with a bunch of baby stuff. I haven't even been out of the house with my baby and stuff yet. :) Also, I have a good meme from you that Tall n' Lucky sent me. I'll tag you with it.
