Baby Bits

  • We’re having a domestic dispute here at Chez Possum. It’s all the fault of this damnable Camptown Ladies singing pseudo-animal. Look at the picture. Look at it closely. Notice the black and white stripes? Notice the red thing on the head? Which takes precedence? Is it a zebra or a rooster? I think the answer is obvious. So does Mike. I can’t see where Mike is getting his opinion from. He can’t see where I am getting mine from. So which is it?
  • Most of the time I wake up in the night because I have a kid head butting my boob going “unh unh unh.” At those times I am well aware I have a child in my bed. Then there are the times that I wake up and don’t know who I am or where I am. I glance over to my side and there is this THING in my bed. I panic, briefly, trying to figure out why I have an albino monkey in bed with me. On really bad days I think it’s an alien. Luckily I come to my senses quickly and realize it is just the boyo.
  • We had a spectacular day of babyness today. We went out to a new Mexican restaurant and actually enjoyed it. It was by far the best Mexican restaurant we’ve eaten in since we moved to this area. It had quite possibly the best guacamole I’ve ever tasted–even better than mine. MisterE didn’t let out a peep the whole time. He was fixated on the waitress. We ran to the grocery store next door to pick up pizza fixings and still no peep from the boy. I could get used to this. He did scream all the way home, but what’s a measly fifteen minutes?
  • All that screaming wore the boy out and he took a nice, long nap. Nice, long weekend naps make mama happy. They say you lose your libido when you have a baby, and I suppose that is true. I only think about sex every ten minutes or so these days. That’s a decrease of about 90%. Oh yes, I do like those long naps. I can’t believe I’m going to post this, but it is a part of motherhood I suppose. Even though this is NOT a mommy blog.
  • And I am damned jealous of all the mommy bloggers who get to go to Amsterdam. Maybe I’d make the big time if I’d proofread once in a while, only post when I have something to say, and actually comment on some of the blogs I read. Oh well. I have a libido.
  • Screaming has commenced. I must go.

Definitely a zebra. Check out the reddish mane highlights here: http://tinyurl.com/agg5c

Plus roosters don’t have big ears like that. :)

    I think it’s a rooster:
    - the red thing on its head
    - the orange tail-thingy
    - the black nose, which could very well be a beak

Looks more zebra than rooster-like to me. While the red thing does remind me of the rooster, I’m still hit with the black stripes on white head and body, a tail (albeit orange) and two ‘legs’ with hooves. But there are only two legs which would suggest more fowl than mammal….hmmm.
Who thinks up these damn toys? New mommas have enough to worry about without dealing with ambiguous toys.

    It’s clearly a zooster.
