rambling? me?

I was told I could ramble… Hey, how did you know rambling (except I prefer to call it babbling) was among my favorite things to do?

My husband & I went to Maine this past weekend for DH’s 33rd birthday. It was his birthday, but what did we end up doing, but visiting yarn stores. Yes, I am a proud knitter & crocheter – as much as I intended not to write about knitting, here I am mentioning it already! We stopped & visited 3 yarn stores that were “new to me”; two were very pleasant (though one over priced), and the other was the stuff of nightmares… I think it was aiming for the “hip” crowd & I’m not exactly hip.

We managed to go to quite a few antique & flea market type of places. Jon picked up some cars for his collection, and I didn’t get anything. Though, I did make up for it at those yarn stores, and later that night we stopped by Michaels for a laugh (I laugh at all the foo-foo ugly yarn they sell, I prefer wool & alpaca & silk, thank you very much) & I found several skeins of sock yarn begging to be bought at 50% off clearance! Yes, thank you ma’am, now get out of my way, it’s my yarn!

Later that night we went off to eat supper at a buffet places, and called it an early evening. As always, we didn’t sleep in the hotel, I just can not sleep anyplace but my own bed, and if I can’t sleep, Jon can’t sleep!

Spent the next day hitting a few more thrift stores, stopped at the beach to freeze & stopped at the York Lighthouse for a quick photo op.

Ate lunch at Taco Bell…. yummy! I’m basically a vegetarian, but those chicken tacos can get me to eat meat anyday of the week & twice on Sundays!

We ended up getting home early, brought our treasures inside, and were happily greeted by our Zorro who missed us more than words can say!
