Queen of Rambles

This is Julie again, with my latest and final update of the birthing process. Next one will be from the other friend (I don’t know who it is, or I’d say *l*).

Mike called last night around ten thirty to let me know that they were still laboring, but not making fast progress. She was dilated one centimeter (you have to get to ten) and having some contractions, but the baby’s head wasn’t really dropped low enough yet to stimulate real labor. They’d had Carrie alternately walking the corridors and resting in bed. Mike says the doctor says the baby is pretty big and everything is fine with him. The options they were discussing were:

1. Send Carrie home and try again on Monday (we all vote HELL NO)
2. Let Carrie sleep tonight and start again in the morning (we all vote YES)
3. Possibly do a caesarian section today (Thursday)(we all vote ONLY IF YOU HAVE TO)

Mike and C’s mom were trying to decide whether to go back to the apartment for the night (too far!), try to sleep at the hospital (good freaking luck there!) or get a hotel nearby (I encouraged that). I’m betting Mikey chose “sleep at the hospital”. They are going to be some tired puppies tomorrow. Yay for adrenaline!

I’ll be holding my cell phone all day. But I’ll be out of town this evening and tomorrow, so no more updates from me. Everybody keep your fingers crossed for a smooth day for Thumper and his mom and dad!
