Sleepy Sleepy
I thought I might be in labor last night, but I guess I wasn’t. Or if I was, I had the baby in my sleep and he was the size of a little tiny kangaroo embryo and he crawled into my belly button and I haven’t noticed yet. I really wish I could be a marsupial.
I woke up at 2 am with period type cramps. Then I started feeling my stomach muscles heaving around and the boy was very, very active. Would the boy be active during labor? My back would get really tight and sore for a few minutes, then go away. I have no idea if it was a precursor to labor or what. I thought about waking Mike up and telling him, but it was 2 in the morning and he had to work late last night and needed his sleep, so I decided just to lay in bed and hope it would go away. After about an hour it stopped and I fell back to sleep.
Then I woke up at 5 am to a drip, drip, dripping sound and thought my water must have broken and was dripping off the bed, but the sheets were dry. I got up to explore and water was pouring out of our smoke alarm. The A/C must have froze again. Fun times! I don’t understand why it just freezes up like that. We keep it set on 72 and never change it. We are going to get a moldy carpet if it keeps doing that. I am just about to be driven batty by the sound of the water hitting the bucket.
Maybe I should finish packing my hospital bag today.

I’ve never had a baby myself, so I’m no expert – but it sounds to me as if getting that bag packed would be a really good idea right now. Best of luck!

Sounds like your body is “practicing.” It will do that a lot – at least mine did. I knew it was the real thing when the “practicing” went on for more than 2 hours.

thos would be the lovely Braxton hicks contractions. They do rpep your body thouhgh so they’re good for something. if they get uncomfrotable try changing your position or walking – if they go away then they’re just BHs. And if they get closer together and regular – then they’re more like the real thing :-)

Your body is definitely getting ready for baby. I had those same pains and ended up at the hospital only to come home because they were false labor pains. It happens all the time.
You will definitely know when it’s labor. No question about that.

re the dripping sound in the bucket, put a bath or tea towel in the bottom of the bucket (depending on how big the bucket is. That will snuffle the noise.
