ARGHHHH!!!!!
I hate how technology is able to push me to the brink of a nervous breakdown.
On Friday we connected up our Vonage and it worked instantly. INSTANTLY! No configuration, no nothing. It was just ready to go. We made a call on it and all was good.
An hour later I tried to make another call and the line was full of buzzing. No go. We followed the troubleshooting guide and did a bunch of switching things around and such and ended up with a still buzzing line, plus all our calls were going directly to voice mail instead of making the phone ring.
More following the trouble shooting guide, more frustration, more Swedish cursing from the boy.
Now we have buzzing, no incoming calls and no dial-tone.
More trouble shooting guide, more frustration, lots of crying on the part of a pregnant woman and guess what we have:
Buzzing, no incoming calls, no dial-tone and NO INTERNET.
One of our neighbors has turned on his/her unsecure network or else I wouldn’t even be able to type this in.
I need to call the support number, but I can’t be crawling around hooking up cables and want Mike to do it when he gets home. He is going to get home really late tonight.
Maybe the no Internet is due to a glitch in our ISP service, but why would it happen after I followed instructions from Vonage? I’ve actually taken the Vonage stuff completely out of the network and am still getting no Internet.
I think I’m going to take myself down to Burlington Coat Factory and take a gander at the baby depot, even though that stresses me out too because all the baby supplies are completely overwhelming and I have no idea what is best or what all the features even mean.
And I’m going to have to go to the apartment office and raise hell because the maintenance man still has not been here.
At least I’m alive and all my loved ones are alive and my home and town haven’t been completely destroyed. I have been watching the coverage all morning and it is incredibly depressing. I can’t imagine what those poor people must be going through. How will they ever rebuild their lives? Sam from Sunday School Rebel is the only person I know down there (as far as I know) and she’s been heavily on my mind this morning. I know she evacuated, but I’m not sure where she went. I have been praying for her and her family.

Ugh. As the Vonage supporter I feel guilty for it not working. Hope it gets fixed and STAYS fixed soon.

Good luck at the office and good luck with the Vonage. When it rains it pours, I guess (no pun intended).
You’re right about the hurricane stuff…I can’t bear to watch it. Thinking about trying to get my mom’s school organized to donate money. They did it last year with the tsunami and it worked out quite well. Kids are so generous.
