Procrastination
The movers called and they won’t be here until sometime between 8:30 and 10:30 am. That means I have enough time to run the modem down to the cable company tomorrow morning, so I was a very bad girl and didn’t return it today. When the modem is turned in they will turn off the cable. I don’t know if it is a simple matter of them inputting something in the computer or what, but it would be really boring to be here with no computer or cable tonight.
That means you get another entry from She Who Must Ramble All the Freakin’ Time. Aren’t you lucky?
Today was not so good. I could not find an inspection station. There is no internet listing and the few places I called don’t do them. I am not too upset because I am thinking we will get our new Maryland registration faster than I thought. Maybe. Their website instructed me to call them so they can request some info from our car loan people, but their phone number is busy All. The. Time. I finally got through and found out they needed the fax number of my loan people to expedite the process, so I called the loan people and got the number and never could get through to the DMV again. I guess I get to start calling them early tomorrow morning and hope I get through sometime during the day. I love spending my day on the phone.
I also went to the hell hole known as Wal-Mart. I didn’t want to go there. I hate Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart in my home town is ok because it is the only store if it’s kind in the whole place. There is a Fred Meyer which is 10 times better, but it is also about twice as expensive. Anyhoo, a trip to Wal-Mart was in order because I bought a bathroom set for Mike’s bathroom there last year and now that we need a shower curtain I was hoping to find one the one that went with the set. Luckily it was still in style so I was able to make myself happy on that front. I also went to the sewing section and bought myself a very cool treat. A great big cutting mat has a lot fewer calories than chocolate chip cookies. That’s my rational for buying it.
I didn’t find a shower curtain to go in my bathroom, though, and that made me sad. The colors I love are very popular right now, but apparently they are juvenile. I learned that from a snooty woman who was telling her daughter the color was not appropriate because of its juvenileness. I didn’t know a blue/green/turquoise color was juvenile, but maybe that’s why I can only find that color bedding in twin and full sizes. Apparently juveniles don’t need shower curtains in pretty teal colors either. I totally overdid it on the shopping and hit a couple of non-Wal-Mart stores as well but came up dry. I did manage to buy some stuff for Thumper, though. I like buying toys. I can’t wait to start buying him his real stuff after we get moved in. I’ve been checking Craigslist way more than is healthy and it seems like there are always practically new travel system strollers in the $40 range, plus lots of other stuff. My only fear is that I’d drive out to wherever it was it was and find that it is not “practically new” but old and worn and then I wouldn’t want to buy it but I would feel trapped because I am a guilt machine. Also, the driving. Ewww. The driving.
And now for a word from our sponsors: Benefiber really has no taste, no grittiness and no thickening. Didn’t you want to know that? We got free samples at class last night and I was bored and decided to try it. I was very skeptical and ready to gag at first sip, but I put it in my glass of water and it was fine. I guess it did taste slightly of cracker, but not enough to be unpleasant. It says you can dissolve this stuff in any hot or cold beverage and any soft food (pudding, pasta sauce, etc). Good to know. Wish I would have known a little earlier in this pregnancy. That’s why I’m spreading the fiber love. I feel like I’m about to sprout gray hair and start talking about my time working as a car hop and being hit on by the Navy boys home on leave.
And now I better go see what I can do about the kitchen. It seems like I’m ok if I am reaching up, so maybe I can help pack the food up.

You each have your OWN bathroom. I’m so jealous! My husband is such a bathroom hog.
