Overtired
I’m ready to kill someone. I just wish I knew who.
I stayed up way past my bedtime reading Harry Potter. I am not yet done, mainly because Mike and I are switching off every 200 pages or so. I had a dream that someone was interviewing me and wanted to know the hardest part of marriage. I couldn’t give an answer because I don’t find anything difficult. Now, however, I have an answer. Sharing Harry Potter.
Anyway, at five in the flippin’ morning we were awoken by the loud sounds of bizarre beepy music which we eventually decided must be video game music. I even went out and tried to sleep on the couch to get away from it, but that made my back burn. Eventually the weird video game music stopped, only to be replaced with loud, thumping bass notes that Won’t. Go. Away. It’s been almost six hours! Aren’t these people bored yet? The bass music is even worse because we can hear it in every room and not even the sound of the TV is drowning it out. I hate apartment living. Hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate it. I think our new apartment will be quieter. I hope. We’ll be the ones everyone hate with our newborn baby crying at odd hours.
Speaking of baby, wow is he getting active. Mike can easily feel him kicking around in there now. I’m officially in my third trimester and have 12 weeks to go! Sometimes it feels like he is having some kind of convulsions in there and my whole belly just shakes and shakes and shakes. I want to know what he is doing! Is he just really bored? Is he scared? Am I over thinking? Does morning sickness come back in your third trimester? I didn’t think it did. I thought you got other nasty problems, but I puked two mornings last week and am not happy about this potential development! Food is also very, very unappealing again and I can barely eat it. At least I don’t feel like I have constant motion sickness like I did the first semester.
When we bought HP, we also bought a baby book by Penelope Leach on the advice of Mommy Prof. I’m very glad we did! I’ve flipped through it and read random parts of it (I can’t seem to read non-fiction in a linear way) and I’ve read the introduction, and I have to say that thus far this is the most intelligent, most sensible baby book I’ve read and it isn’t patronizing at all like so many of them. Of course, it helps that it confirms many of my preconceived notions. So thank you Mommy Prof!

My brother and his girlfriend broke down and bought 2 books. Neither is allowed to speak to the other (about the book, I assume) until they are finished.
I am taking my time (only to chapter 7) because 2 years is a long time to wait for another book.
That being said…it’ll be finished within the week. And I’ll have to reread them all again. Enjoy your books!

Maybe your baby is rockin’ out to the beat of the bass next door?

I was never interested in reading Harry Potter (and I love to read) until I saw the movies. Now I have to read the last two books to catch up to this one. I only have to find the time to read…

You are welcome. We bought two books and are sharing them among the 3 of us. Since one of us is going to be at 9, it works pretty well. I am trying hard to stretch it out, but it’s hard.
