I went to see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants today. No one told me it was sad. I sat there with tears streaming down my face for a good part of the movie. I was just glad that I was alone and the theatre was almost empty. It was a pretty good movie, even though I wouldn’t have went if I would have known it was so emotional. I don’t like sad stuff.

On Saturday we went and saw Bewitched and I really enjoyed that one. The enjoyment was surely helped by all the old Bewitched episodes they were showing on TV last week. My only complaint is that Will Farrell grates on my nerves. Mike also liked the movie, which proves you don’t have to be familiar with the show to like the movie. On the way home he turned to me and asked if there was really an old show called Bewitched. It isn’t nice to laugh at your poor, Swedish husband, is it?

He gets his chance to laugh at me, so it’s all good.

Even though I haven’t had morning sickness in a very long time, I am still pretty turned off by food. This week I can’t stand it at all and Mike has tried to get to the bottom of it. It doesn’t help when I explain the problem as “it’s. . . it’s. . . it’s. . . like. . . all in my MOUTH and stuff.”

My English teaching certificate expired a couple of years ago. No need to call anyone to have it revoked after a sentence like that.

I’ve decided that the police department in this little city needs some training on using resources to their fullest potential. The other day on our way to the movie theatre there was a big box of shredded paper in middle of the road with a police car sitting behind it with its lights flashing. Made sense. It was in a rather precarious place and would certainly cause a problem if anyone ran into it.

After the movie the police officer was STILL SITTING THERE. Lights were still flashing, the box was still there. It was two hours later! Ok, so I don’t think a police officer should have to go around cleaning up garbage, but he could have had it cleaned up in 10 minutes. I just don’t understand how such a waste of resources can be excused.

Today, in almost the exact same spot, there was something major going on when I came back from the movie theatre. There were several police cars, a few ambulances and a big fire truck blocking three of the four lanes on the road. You’d THINK they’d have someone directing traffic around the emergency vehicles, but no. Finally the garbage truck behind me just started honking his horn and went into the head on traffic so we got our turn. While the police officers watched. I don’t understand.

Mike is urging me to get a job. He’s only been to work one day that I’ve been off of work and he’s already tired of my puppy dog energy. When I work I don’t have any energy to harass him when he gets home, but when I’m home all day I yap around his heels like a puppy for at least an hour after he gets home. Who’s going to hire a pregnant woman? Not that I actually look pregnant. I could just let them think I’m fat.

I just looked at Craigslist and found the PERFECT job for me–coordinating a peer-to-peer reading program. Obviously that won’t work since you have to commit through the end of the 2005-2006 school year.

I guess that’s enough randomness for tonight.

Do you think Bewitched would be OK for Offspring, who is 6, to see? It is playing at our drive in, which we love to go to. I am kind of hoping the unseemly references will go over her head, but I’d like your opinion!

Traveling Pants is sad! I went to see it with a good friend and we cried through it too. And I knew what was going to happen! lol Hey, I asked my friend if she wanted to know what happens / what to be prepared for. She said no, so I cannot be responsible.

Sad or not, it was a good movie. :)
