Sing it with me!

All right everyone, dust off your voices and get ready to sing to the tune of Rawhide:

Rolling, rolling, rolling, my poor belly’s rolling, rolling rolling ALL NIGHT!

Fun stuff, isn’t it? I read a big chunk of Standing in the Rainbow by Fannie Flagg this morning. I don’t remember much of it. Reading at 2 am tends to do that to me. At least it wasn’t a horror novel, or I never would have gotten back in bed. I had enough problems as it was with my bladder, since I got scared that a mothman might get me or that Bloody Mary was waiting in the shower. You know what’s weird? In this apartment I never worry about alien invaders. I wonder why that is. I suppose it’s the anonymity offered by living in a complex with over 5,000 residents in an area with millions of people. I’m more likely to kidnapped by terrorists than aliens.

This morning I took the plunge and set up a printing of my blog over at BlogBinders. I really hope it’s not a trick or somehow evil. It is going to be extremely expensive to get everything I’ve written down in print. I managed to squeeze entries from March 27 2003 to October 1, 2003 in one $25.00 book. At that rate I am probably gong to need at least 5 more books to get all my entries in print. It’s really worth it thought. Then I’ll be guaranteed to have a hard copy to pass on to my children, because I know they will be dying to read all about how their mother has big feet and intestinal gas. Now, if only the site would be able to handle diary-x entries I’d be all set.

Mike just walked in and informed me that we are using my breast milk in one form or another. Apparently he had a long talk with a loan officer today and we need to save save save save. We have a very nice income, but we are going to have a tough time affording a decent (read 2 bedroom, non-ghetto) townhouse in this area. It’s almost to the point were we are both ready to continue renting for another year so we can save up more money and hope the real estate bubble bursts. If we move we will probably be in a smaller place and be paying a lot more money. Plus we will have to buy a ton of stuff, pay actual bills (here we just pay cable and telephone), mow the lawn and so on and so forth. I know it is important to build up equity, but at this point it almost feels like it would be smarter to save our money and continue having enough money to go out and do fun things instead of putting every last dime into a place that we’ll probably only be in for a couple of years. We hope that we will be out of here as soon as Mike gets his citizenship and has more job opportunities.

And now I can’t remember what else I was going to write about so I guess that means this entry is over.

Rolling rolling rolling. . .

Grrr real estate! At least once you get into something chances are, the value will still increase, even if the bubble bursts.
