Work? What’s that?
It’s been so long since I’ve worked, that I think I’ve forgotten how. I only had a couple of offers for today, both of them on the “just say no” list, so I was able to spend the day getting my hair poofified, much to my horror. I’m jumping into first grade tomorrow and Friday so I guess I’ll quickly remember how to use my Eyebrow of Terror.
My haircut! Yikes!
I went to the place I always go to because I love love love it. Even though I always just do a walk-in because I am a freak and don’t like to talk on the phone to make an appointment, I am always happy with the cut and style. It’s a nice place and they all spend a long time making me look like a movie star. Today? Not so much.
First, I had a problem with the stylist’s smell. I know this is rude and crude and politically incorrect, but she had that weird smell that some Asian people have. I assume it is a spice. All I know is, the smell makes me gag on the best of days. When I’m 12 weeks pregnant it is intolerable. At one point I literally thought I was going to have to jump out of the chair and dive for the waste basket.
The cut actually didn’t take as long as it usually does, but the styling. . . oi. . .the styling. She spent way too long poofing me up. I don’t want to be poofy. I was to be sleek. I just hope it looks better when I fix it tomorrow, though I doubt a crowd of six year olds will give a flying flip. They’ll be much more interested in all my zits. I haven’t been this broke out since 8th grade.
And now it’s picture time. I’ll put them behind the cut in case you can’t stand unbearably cute babies and doggies.

Mike made friends with Braxton after taking him outside for a walk. Braxton LOVES being outside. It’s the only time he’ll be still.

Look at that little pout. How sad!

And look at the size of those hands! Utterly massive! To give you some perspective, my hands are extremely large for a woman’s. I wear a size 9 1/2 ring.

Me and the boob pincher.

His favorite toy: a dog’s tail.

And when the dogs get tired of it, they lick his face till he quits. It makes me gag.

Mikey and I did an extreme make-over on my sweet little 14-year old puppy. She was wild looking.

But we shaved her good.

Bath time is the best time, even if he does go crazy and want to chew on the handle. Mike can’t believe my mom would bathe him in the kitchen sink, but it’s a lot easier on the old back.

Now THIS is a nice LITTLE baby. This is my cousin’s little 4 month old boy. He was born 2 months early so is still pretty little. I was really beginning to wonder about having a baby after dealing with my sister’s boy, but this little baby reminded me that I will get some cuddle time before the baby gets wiggly and crazy.

You got my bangs! Mine are bugging the beep out of me but I guess they are “all the rage”! You look good Carrie. I want to go look at some old pictures from Sweden and see if I can tell how much you’ve changed.

I start work in a week and a half, too, and I’ve also forgotten how. I HATE the first week. It’s scary.
But it’s never scary when I’m actually doing it, just when I’m thinking about doing it.

Those are great pictures. The babies are adorable. You look like an old pro. Not old as in OLD but just a pro.
You look good too. I hope your morning sickness subsides soon.

Carrie you look great and relaxed. Those pictures were taken by someone who loves you! Or maybe it’s the pregnancy. Women just glow who are pregnant.

You look like a natural. Enjoy your pregnancy, the morning sickness won’t last forever. If you have problems with dairy and solid foods try slimfast soy shakes. They are made with water and don’t taste too bad. I know because that’s almost all I could have during my first trimester. My pregnancy was anything but easy, so if you have questions, please ask. I’m sure others will be happy to answer questions too.
