Tired Girl

I am one tired girl tonight. That’s what comes of dancing the hokey pokey, the twist, and other assorted silly dances all day. The schools all have their heat cranked up so high that dancing is not a good idea. I was so stinky when I got home that I couldn’t even stand myself. Degree may save spies from intense interrogation, but it doesn’t save a hokey pokey maniac. Still, it is the only deodorant that I’ve found that does me any good at all. Just what you needed to know.

Speaking of spies, I got my new Alias DVD today and was very happy–not because I am in love with the show, but because I easily burn about 50 more calories during an Alias workout than a Babylon 5 workout. It’s all that running Sydney and I have to do.

I am just so danged tired again tonight. I need a massage I think, but just the thought of one sends shivers of horror running down my back because I can’t stand pressure. I know, I know. I don’t know what I’m missing, I should try it, yeah yeah yeah. I just don’t see anyway that I could possibly enjoy it, even though sometimes it seems like it might actually be good.

Some of you may have noted that today is December 1 and it was the day that was supposed to satisfy curiosity. So far we have a big negative on two counts–no line, no period. I hate confusion!

Speaking of confusion, they played the Seinfeld pilot on TV tonight. It was pretty darned awful. I didn’t even know there was a Seinfeld episode that I haven’t seen, but apparently they hardly ever show that one for good reason. Kramer had a dog, there was no Elaine, and the scenes just dragged on and on. Kramer didn’t look like a fun/crazy either. He was like that scary old guy neighbor from Friends.

I have ninth grade science for the rest of the week so that should be a lot less intense than doing the hokey pokey for several hours. The kids at the school were really, really sweet (not counting the fifth graders–I’ve yet to meet a group [though there have been nice individuals, of course] of nice fifth graders in this district. Way too big for their britches). The fifth grade class was slightly interesting in that we were singing songs about “light celebrations” from around the world. There’s Vietnam and the Full Moon festival, Hanukah and then. . .

Drum roll. . .

Sankta Lucia! That’s right! I got to sing a Swedish song with the kids, which I enjoyed even though the kids told me they didn’t believe that I’d ever even been to Sweden. Some of them thought it was in Africa, some thought it was in China and a couple thought it was in Mexico. Apparently they haven’t had any world geography yet.
