Back to Reality

We’re back! I don’t know why I’m using that exclamation point. I’m not at all excited about being back. We had a great time in Ohio and I really do think we need to figure out a way to move closer to Julie and Jeff at some point. I guess we can re-evaluate our location when Mike gets his citizenship and can be trusted with top secret satellite stuff instead of measly African radio broadcasts.

We honestly didn’t do a whole heck of a lot, other than the zoo. We watched a really bizarre and fun movie (The Big Empty that I never in a million years would have rented but was very fun. We also watched an episode of Coupling. I was the odd man out on that show because I just didn’t’ find it that great. It just felt like the actresses were all trying way too hard to be funny. They all had their eyes opened really wide and I wanted to ask them if they needed some kind of medical assistance to make them look normal. It wasn’t the worst show in the world, but it’s not something I would watch if I was alone.

Julie and Jeff have an Airedale named Fred that I totally loved. I’ve seen pictures and thought he would be much larger, but he’s smaller than a lab. His fur was really soft and fun feeling. I could easily see getting an Airedale. He did do this weird talking thing that cracked me up. Instead of barking he groaned and moaned and sounded exactly like the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. They also have a schnoodle puppy named Bear. He was adorable, but very high energy. He was soft too. I like soft (but not to lick).

The Miller’s are excellent parents, though I wonder if Miller Spawn A is going to think that during the next four years (he just entered high school). Papa Jeff is very protective and safety conscious–a teenager’s worst nightmare. Miller Spawn R is only 10 or so and was pretty cute.

I am way too tired to think of all the other witty things I was going to share. I did want to mention that all those quilt blocks I post are actually 8 1/2 inches, not teeny tiny. I don’t want to make you load such a big picture.

Must. . . find. . . bed. . . .
