Ohio!

We are here in Ohio and having a great time! Last night Jeff and Julie taught us how to play hearts. Mike was a natural (I think he used to play it on the computer), but I pretty much suck at it. I’m not much of a game player and really don’t do well in games that require strategy because I don’t like to think that far ahead. I’m more of an impulsive type.

We got up bright and early (or it seemed that way since we were up till about 1 am) and headed off to the zoo. It’s a lot cooler here than in DC, but that’s not saying much. We were all pretty wet and smelly by the time we finished seeing all their was to see. I think this was the first time I’ve ever been to a zoo and not seen monkey-self-lovin’ going on. There were a LOT of monkey babies so maybe these monkeys don’t need so much self-loving.

Then it was off to a great Mexican dinner and back to the Miller abode for some relaxation and computer time. I think we may go to a movie tonight, but I’m not sure if the thunder storms are going to change that plan or what.

This weekend has been a much needed respite from reality. Julie and Jeff (along with the Miller spawn) are really easy to be around and a lot of fun. There’s no stress here at all, just laughter and jokes and ice cream. There’s one ice cream shop that only has an outside walk-up window that says you get your second scoop free if you order while it is raining. I wonder if Jeff will want to claim his second scoop. No way would I want to be out in this rain at an outside ice cream shop. Jeff seems obsessed with ice cream and lounging pants. It turns out lounging pants are actually pajama bottoms so I decided to put on my lounging pants too since my other clothes were pretty wet and smell from the sweat and rain.
