We’re here!
Just a super quick update to let you all know that we had an awful time in New Mexico, mainly due to my sister’s incredibly chaotic lifestyle (dog catcher, towing, bailing from jail. . . the usual). Her baby is a sweet, sweet little boy, as I shall prove when I have my computer (we took way too many pictures of the little guy). I start crying every time I think about him and the life that he’s been thrust into. I really want to smack people like her who say things like “God gave him to me so he must have trusted me to raise a baby.” Using God as an excuse to act totally godless? What sense does that make?
We have been hot and wet down here in DC. No rain (though I guess there were floods around here last night that we just didn’t get at our hotel), but so humid that you step out and feel like you just got out of the shower. Me no like. It’s better today, but that could also be because we figured out a more direct route to our local metro stop. We probably walked at least 10 minutes uphill that was totally unnecessary yesterday.
We have a place (near the Van Dorn metro in Alexandria if that means anything) and a bed, so we are all set. We can’t move in till August 3 though, so that means very limited access until then. We have the option of webTV in our hotel room but we can’t do much and it’s incredibly frustrating so we aren’t paying for it any more. Right now we are at a Kinko’s in Crystal City.
That’s about it from this end. We want to go furniture shopping now but have no idea where to go. It might be a little risky to hop in a cab and say “go forth and find me a couch.” It may come down to that though.
Final note: I WANT A BABY! I’m ovulating right now, so maybe. . .

I’m sorry your trip to NM was awful. Hopefully ours next month will be better!
As far as baby… even if you don’t get pregnant, at least you will have fun trying!

That’s so exciting…..a new place, new furniture and maybe a baby? Good luck!
