As if I haven’t said enough today

I may have posted twice already, but that doesn’t stop me from posting my nightly recap. You couldn’t live without it, now could you? Just admit it. Yeah right. I’m sure it would be nice to come here and not see such a prolific amount of writing.

I would skip it, but I have three specific things to share. Let’s see how well I stick to my plan. You know, with three points I could turn this into a five paragraph essay. I have to laugh at how hard I used to think five paragraphs essays were when I was a kid. Now my only problem with the five paragraph theme: how can I only write five measly paragraphs?

First up, the story of a brush with an alien. Do I seem obsessed with aliens lately?

I had to pick my dad up from his class, so I was driving along all normal like, listening to some very, very loud country music (on a side note, I have to laugh every time I see Terri Clark’s Girl’s Lie Too video. It features a woman having a very elaborate fantasy about Capt. Jack Sparrow. I am kind of surprised they got Johnny to do it). There I was, singing along when I suddenly felt a soft, warm something brushing against my arm. My head went through the roof, causing a concussion. I looked down and saw an alien! No, not really. Wouldn’t that have been cool though?

No, no. Instead I saw the cat! She had been hanging out in the back seat of the truck! I can’t believe she even got in there. One window was cracked about five inches so I guess she did some major acrobatic/yoga work to get in. She did not enjoy her ride around town and acted like I was torturing her. I was so startled that I totally missed my turn and had to take the long way to the place I was going. Silly, silly kitty.

Then I came home and ripped out seams all freakin’ day! Seriously, I have not ripped out so many seams since my first quilt. The result is still wonky, but I have learned how NOT to be stupid (maybe). My points don’t match and after about five tries I just gave up. It doesn’t matter though. It’s still a really cute horse! I’m thinking of blowing up the pattern and making big wall hangings with just the Dala horse in the middle. I would send them as Christmas gifts to Mike’s family.

The last order of business for the day is extremely boring. I had the absolute worst workout today–not because of the workout itself, but because of the entertainment. Some dweebo was watching baseball. I wanted to slap the man upside the head. He left, but the machine in front of the TV was taken so I couldn’t even turn the channel. Normally I would have asked the lady on the machine if we could watch something else, but she was there yesterday and gave me an extremely dirty look when I turned the fan on her when I was done. Normally I see the same people all the time and we all turn the fan on each other when we are done if we’ve been using it and the other person isn’t getting any air. We normally thank each other profusely as we wipe off the sweat. We also are all pretty agreeable about what to watch–lots of Dharma and Greg, Friends, Senfield, and such. Of course, it had to be the one day that I forgot my walkman. I normally take it for just such an emergency and never use it. Oh well. I got in my workout and it felt good. Oddly enough, I’ve been craving really fatty, salty breakfast sausages all night. I think I am running out of salt or something. I’ve been craving it the past few days and I don’t usually like salt at all. Strange times.

And now it’s time for bed or Iron Chef. I think I’ll take bed. Yesterday they had green asparagus creme brulee with white asparagus ice cream. It just gets stranger and stranger by the day.

The quilt block looks great! I must have missed the significance of the dahla horse - could you fill me in please?
Iron Chef is totally weird. Asparagus as part of a dessert? Egad!

That’s really funny about the “Girls Lie Too” video. I listen to that song all the time on the radio, but never saw the video. Now, every time I hear it, I’ll think of Johnny Depp and use my imagination…
