The World Spins
The world is a strange place. Yesterday a local mother killed her four year old daughter and reported her missing. Today I see an advertisement for refrigerators with TV screens built right in. I know they have nothing to do with each other, but I just wonder how we can live in a world with such social problems combined with such ridiculous advances in technology.
Not much to say today. I think I’m over my weekend debauchery. I swear it’s almost like eating sugar gives me a hang over. I feel sick and shaky and want MORE MORE MORE. Today was easier. Today I’m back on the yogurt, almond, tomato soup diet. Big excitement in my life.
No news from DC. I am not freaking out yet. They said “next week” and there’s still three days to go. I just wish they would call so we can quit sitting on pins and needles!
Even though I swore that I wasn’t going to start a new quilting project until I had finished something (I have four projects started and material bought for two more), I decided I couldn’t stand having my beautiful, beautiful turquoise batiks sitting all alone in their bin. I thought I would make just one block to see how it would look. It is absolutely beautiful! This is going to be an extremely time consuming quilt, but it is going to be worth it. I’ll have to take a picture when I actually get a whole block complete. One block is made up of nine smaller blocks. The color is just perfect. I could probably make anything out of this fabric and think it was beautiful.
I think I need to call the police and report my neighbor boy for dog abuse. Our neighbors have suddenly acquired an old basset hound that is very obviously male. Today our neighbor boy and two friends had the dog on his back and were totally being nasty! I thought I was seeing it wrong, but they had their hands wrapped around the poor dog’s ding dong and were doing things that I don’t have a snappy or dorky little saying for. I was shocked. Why on earth would they do that? The boys are about 10 or 11 I’d say. I guess they are just curious about sex or something. They had no shame about it. They saw me walk right by and didn’t stop.
I found an unread Jeffery Deaver on my bookshelf today. Mike said he found it in a box. I was shocked! I thought I had read all the Deaver’s I owned. Nice little surprise there. It’s going to be very, very interesting to open up all my boxes of books that have been in storage for the past three years. I know I have over 100 un-reads in there so it will be like Christmas morning. There are probably a ton that Mike hasn’t read either, so he can get in on the Christmas action.
I almost forgot the funniest thing of the day! We were about to leave for the book store when Mike started screaming for me to go into my dad’s section of the house. I walked in and he had flames coming out of his head! It was a shocking sight. He’s had water in his ears for several days and nothing has helped. His friend brought over some of those ear candles and lit them. They aren’t just tiny little candles! They burn fast and give off a major flame. Apparently, they also work. He used two of them and his problem is gone. Now he just needs to get new glasses and his fall into the lake will almost be forgotten.

Heh on the quilting. You’ve now entered UFO territory (UnFishined Objects). Welcome sister.
The kids around here are going to drive me berserk. And we’ve just started summer vacation. Arrrrgh.
I do ear candling on my sis and dad and hubby. They all say it works very well (I would like to try it but I want someone else to do a treatment on me and no one is willing to). Did your dad use the ‘tube’ kind of candle? I buy packages at the local health food store - it’s a pretty cool process.

About the dog . . . I would talk to the child’s parents ASAP and if you don’t get a response, talk to an animal protection agency! Obviously, boys play with their own genitalia all the time. It’s a natural way of “discovering” oneself. However, it’s another thing to play with a dog in that way. It leads to all kinds of sexual dysfunctions and the child should be stopped before it’s too late – for the sake of the dog AND the child!

Thank you soooo much for your posts in my guestbook. You have no idea how much you helped me out..especially about the dyslexia, with you being a teacher and all. And I agree with the person who posted above me about the dog. It could also be that one of those boys is being sexually abused himself, you know?
