He is overweight (not as much as I am), eats some red meat (not as much as I do) and never drinks. You'd know if you had gout. Hurts like a sonofabitch. And it's red and swollen. And it's usually the big toe joint. And that's all I have to say about that. Hope your finger heals soon - I'll miss reading your entries if you have to take a *gasp* break. My hubby has gout.
