Out of commission

This is going to be short. Extremely short.

I don’t know what happened, but about five minutes after I came in from recess I noticed I couldn’t move my finger. I didn’t do anything to it. I pushed the merry-go-round a few times but I don’t see how that could damage it. My dad tells me it’s gout but I don’t think I fit in the gout category. The only people I know with gout are male red-meat-eating alcoholics. Maybe I just don’t know many people. All I know is this: my finger hurts like hell when I bend it so typing is not working that well.

I will leave you all with a winner of a quote. One of the second grade boys is a really whiney little wimp. I know why the kids hate him. I am starting to hate him even though I don’t let him know that. Today he was up in arms because someone called him a rotten egg (as in last one there is a rotten egg). I finally just asked him if his family ever teases each other. He didn’t get it. I tried to give him a lesson on teasing and taught him the lovely phrase “I’m rubber, you’re glue, what you say bounces off me and sticks to you.” He liked it even though he totally didn’t get it. With the help of one of my little friends, we practiced teasing each other. Finally he got all excited! I thought things had finally clicked. Little did I know I was dealing with some sort of perv. His quote:

So if I want to tease someone I should tell them their weiner is sticking out?

I gave up at that point.

And now my finger really does hurt.

Maybe you pulled a muscle and didn’t know it? Or, like what happened to me one time, got bit by a spider and that caused the pain. Hmmm… whatever it is, I hope it’s better soon!

My hubby has gout. He is overweight (not as much as I am), eats some red meat (not as much as I do) and never drinks. You’d know if you had gout. Hurts like a sonofabitch. And it’s red and swollen. And it’s usually the big toe joint. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Hope your finger heals soon – I’ll miss reading your entries if you have to take a *gasp* break.
