Spam Blocker
Back in the dark ages when comment spam started showing up on people’s sites I didn’t pay much attention to the solution. I never got any spammy comments and life was good.
Life has changed.
Help!
How am I supposed to fix this? Is there a simple way to prevent 20 viagra messages a day on this site? Please, oh, please help me.
Honestly, how do these spammers think they are going to get any business with these tactics? It must work, but why? Why why why why why would it?
The spams are happening on my MT blog, but I’m also posting this in my LJ b/c I know there are some experts who read it there.

Install it, and then get the updated list linked to from the “add” page and import it to your blacklist. Then have it scan your comments and you’re set! And if it doesn’t grab some, go into MT and find out their IPs. Then use Blacklist to search for their IPS, and then you can add them to your blacklist. Blacklist will then block anyone who is on the list when they try to comment. Just make sure you keep updating your blacklist every once in a while ;)
