Death Becomes Her

I feel like death warmed over. We worked for eight solid hours doing nasty grunt work like scrubbing baseboards and defrosting the freezer, but now we are done done done done!!!!! Free, free, free, freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! Mike even survived my grouchiness, and that’s not an easy task. I hate it when I feel myself snapping, but I just can’t seem to stop it when I’m that tired and sore. Did I mention I didn’t sleep last night at all? It’s very noisy at Annica’s, with pipes banging, the neighbors banging and who knows what else going on. Then the children wake up super early and start their daily scream fest. I hope I can sleep tonight. I’m so exhausted I think I may fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow.

We’re at Mike’s work for about 10 more minutes. I got all the computer stuff done that needed doing, other than looking through the poems submitted for Mosaic Minds. I feel like I shouldn’t be making the judgement call for poetry since it is not my preferred genre.

I am feeling slightly sick because we had a very Swedish dinner (Annica cooked for us) and it was just way too fatty. Loads of cream and butter, which my system is just not used to. Plus we had a special treat for lunch that didn’t agree with me too much either–reindeer kebab and fries. I never eat fries. I love fries. I shouldn’t have reminded myself of that. The reindeer meat was excellent. Sounds weird, doesn’t it? But yum yum yum. Good thing we are moving or I might get addicted to that meal and it can’t be healthy. Fries are not a part of my current lifestyle

So off I go. See you all Jan 3 I hope. My mom says it is snowing in Oregon so maybe I’ll wear my ski pants on the plane. They aren’t going to be fitting into my luggage I don’t think. You should see our luggage. I hope the zippers don’t pop open in the hold of the plane. And I hope we don’t get charged for the extra weight. It’s never happened before, but there’s a first time for everything, right?

Happy New Year!
