I’m back and want to extend a big thank you to Brenda for filling in for a couple of days! Great job! Sorry Juan had to harass you though. He harasses everyone, which means he likes you.
I’m too tired to say much beyond “heat sucks when there’s no a/c”.
Tomorrow I’ll fill you in on the details. I’m sure you all are dying to hear how I almost had to crawl through the service window at the Embassy and beat the tarnation out of the stupid woman working there. And, of course, you all are dying to find out why I took a pair of scissors to my pants. It was all in the interest of health, I assure you. I think Mike’s friends think I’m weird, and not the good and quirky weird that the rest of you think me to be (does that sentence even make sense?). The woman said I was. . . interesting. . . in that way that means interesting is the nicest thing they can think of to say. I thought I was behaving well, but when you start slashing your pants because of the itch I guess you’re bound to get strange looks.
Was that enough of a teaser? Are you dying to know what happened? Tune in tomorrow and you’ll get to hear all about it. I need sleep. Real sleep in a soft bed (though not a magic bed. I need a magic flying bed). I only have one picture left to go for the 26 Things (though none of the pictures I took over the past two days are that great–just useable). How can I stay up late enough to get a picture of the sunset? It won’t be setting until midnight and that’s over two hours away!

Yay! You’re back. That was fun. I am relieved that you’re back though. I wasn’t sure what Juan was going to throw at me next. White Stripes… Sienfeld, Ya Ya Ya’s… phew!

Welcome back Carrie! I usually read Carrie’s posts via LJ, so didn’t see your, Brenda, until today, and I found them very entertaining. *s* As were Juan’s replies! Silly Juan..The White Stipes aren’t any good! *snicker*

Bad news. Over the past few days the Reds have traded Aaron Boone, Gabe White, Scott Williamson, and Jose Guillen. All they got in return was a bunch of minor league pitching prospects. Clearly, they were just trying to dump salaries. I can only hope they plan to use the money they have now shaved from the payroll to try to sign a couple of free agent starting pitchers this offseason. They need some more starting pitching bad. Also, tell Mike that the jackets made some solid offseason moves, and might be able to compete for a playoff spot this year (I’m always optimistic before the season starts).
